What is the difference between Porcelain and Quartz?

Porcelain is made from natural clay and fired at extremely high temperatures, making it heat, UV, and scratch-resistant, suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Quartz is an engineered stone containing natural quartz and resin; it is highly durable and non-porous but is generally recommended for indoor use only.

Are your surfaces heat resistant?

Yes. Our porcelain slabs are fired at high temperatures, making them extremely resistant to heat. While quartz is also durable, we recommend using trivets or hot pads to protect the resin component from thermal shock.

Can I use your products outdoors?

Absolutely. Our Porcelain Pavers and specific stone slabs are UV resistant and durable enough to withstand freezing and thawing cycles, making them perfect for patios, pool decks, and outdoor kitchens.

What is "Large Format" porcelain?

Large format porcelain refers to oversized slabs that minimize grout lines, creating a seamless, modern look. They are lightweight yet durable, ideal for countertops, wall cladding, and flooring.

Is natural stone suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes, many natural stones like Quartzite and Granite are incredibly dense and durable, making them excellent choices for high-traffic areas. However, some softer stones like Marble may require more maintenance to prevent scratching or etching.

Maintenance & Care

How do I clean my porcelain surfaces?

Porcelain is incredibly low maintenance. For daily cleaning, use a damp cloth with warm water and a neutral pH cleaner. It requires no sealing and is resistant to staining.

Does natural stone need to be sealed?

Yes, natural stone is porous. We recommend sealing your natural stone surfaces upon installation and periodically thereafter to protect against staining and moisture absorption.

How do I remove stubborn stains?

For most surfaces, non-abrasive cleaners are best. Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach or acidic cleaners (like vinegar) on natural stone, as they can etch the surface. Always check the specific care guide for your chosen material.

Can porcelain slabs be installed over existing countertops?

In many cases, yes. Due to their slim profile and light weight, large format porcelain can often be installed over existing surfaces, reducing demolition time and cost. Consult with your installer for feasibility.

Raphael Products Limited Warranty

Introduction

Raphael Products (formerly referred to as Raphael Stone and Raphael Porcelain) warrants its quartz and stone surfaces to be free from manufacturing defects when used under normal residential conditions and properly maintained, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.

This warranty applies exclusively to products manufactured and distributed by Raphael Products.

Warranty Coverage

Residential Use (Standard Products) Raphael Products provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original residential property owner, effective from the date of installation. This warranty covers:

Manufacturing defects in the material.
Structural defects inherent to the slab.
Defects that compromise the functional integrity of the surface.

The warranty remains valid for as long as the original owner owns the residence in which the product was installed.

Commercial & Non-Residential Use For commercial, rental, or non-residential installations (including offices, restaurants, retail spaces, and hospitality projects), Raphael Products provides a Limited Warranty of up to 10 years, subject to usage type and installation conditions.

Exclusions and Limitations

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Printed Quartz Products are not covered by the Limited Warranty.

In addition to this specific exclusion, this warranty does not cover:

Printed Surface Issues: Any issues related to the printed surface, including printed pattern/design, color variation, fading, surface appearance, gloss level, or design alignment. The printed design is considered decorative and is not covered.
Fabrication and Installation: Damage caused by improper installation, fabrication errors, or failure to follow industry standards. Raphael Products is not responsible for installation-related issues.
Heat Damage: Quartz slabs are heat resistant, not heat proof. The warranty does not cover burn marks, discoloration due to heat, or cracking caused by placing hot pans directly on the surface or thermal shock.
Physical Damage: Scratches, chips, cracks, or breaks caused by impact, abuse, misuse, or negligence.
Outdoor Use: Outdoor installations are excluded unless explicitly approved in writing.
Natural Variation: Natural variations in color, pattern, veining, or print variation are not covered.
Installation Requirements

To maintain warranty eligibility, the slab must be:

Fabricated and installed by a licensed and qualified professional fabricator.
Installed following industry standards, including proper support, leveling, and seam support.
Warranty Registration (Mandatory)

Warranty coverage applies only if the original owner registers the slab.

Timeframe: Registration must be completed within 30 days of purchase/installation.
Requirements: Registration requires proof of purchase, installation date, installer details, property address, and product identification (color, lot, or serial number).
Failure to Register: If the product is not registered within this timeframe, the warranty is void and will not apply.

Warranty Claim Process

To submit a claim, the customer must contact Raphael Products within 30 days of discovering the issue. The customer must provide:

Proof of purchase and Warranty Registration confirmation.
Photos or video of the issue and a description of the problem.
Fabricator and installer information.

Raphael Products reserves the right to inspect the product before any claim decision is made.

Remedy / Resolution

If a defect covered by this warranty is confirmed, Raphael Products will, at its discretion:

Repair the affected area,
Replace the defective material with a comparable product, or
Provide a credit for material only.

Material Only: This warranty covers material only. Labor, fabrication, removal, installation, transportation, plumbing, and cabinetry costs are not included and will not be reimbursed.

Transfer of Ownership

This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is non-transferable. The warranty terminates immediately if the owner sells the property or transfers the slab to another owner.

Limitation of Liability

This Limited Warranty is the only warranty provided. Raphael Products shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use or downtime.
