Limited Warranty (Tile & Paver Products)

SECTION 1 – CUSTOMER WARRANTY SUMMARY (SHORT FORM)

Raphael Porcelain warrants that its first-quality porcelain tile and paver products are manufactured in accordance with applicable industry standards, including ANSI A137.1, and will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase.

This Limited Warranty applies only to products:

  • Purchased and installed in the United States and Canada
  • Installed in accordance with Raphael guidelines, the TCNA Handbook, and applicable ANSI installation standards
  • Used for intended and approved applications
Important Conditions:
  • Tile and pavers must be inspected prior to installation
  • Installation constitutes full acceptance of the product
  • No claims will be honored for visible defects, shade variation, or appearance issues after installation
What is Covered:
  • Manufacturing defects in first-quality material
What is Not Covered:
  • Improper installation or maintenance
  • Shade, color, or texture variation inherent to porcelain
  • Damage from misuse, impact, or structural movement
  • Labor, removal, or reinstallation costs

Remedy: If a valid claim is confirmed, Raphael Porcelain will, at its option, replace the defective material or refund the original purchase price. This constitutes the sole and exclusive remedy.

SECTION 2 – FULL LIMITED WARRANTY TERMS

2.1 Scope of Warranty

Raphael Porcelain warrants compliance with ANSI A137.1 for one (1) year. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

2.2 Installation Requirements

Products must be installed in accordance with:

  • Current TCNA Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation
  • Applicable ANSI A108 / A118 / A136.1 standards
  • Raphael Porcelain installation recommendations

Failure to follow these standards voids this warranty.

2.3 Pre-Installation Inspection (Critical Condition)

The purchaser, installer, and end user are responsible for inspecting all material prior to installation, including:

  • Shade / color variation and caliber / sizing
  • Finish / texture and visible defects
  • Suitability for intended application

Installation constitutes full acceptance. No claims will be honored after installation for conditions that were visible prior to installation.

2.4 Shade & Appearance Variation

Porcelain tile and pavers are subject to inherent variations. Tiles must be blended from multiple cartons during installation. No claims related to shade or variation will be accepted after installation.

2.5 Exclusions from Warranty

This warranty does not cover:

  • Improper installation or structural movement
  • Lippage, improper leveling, or freeze-thaw damage from poor installation
  • Misuse, abuse, impact, or exposure to chemicals
  • Freight damage or normal wear and tear

2.6 Slip Resistance Disclaimer

The purchaser is solely responsible for determining product suitability and compliance with safety requirements. Test values (DCOF) are based on laboratory conditions and are not guarantees of performance in actual environments.

2.7 Limitation of Liability

Raphael Porcelain shall not be liable for labor costs, removal, loss of use, or incidental/consequential damages. All implied warranties are limited to the duration of this limited warranty.

2.8 Claims Procedure

Claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of discovery with proof of purchase, photos, and installation details. Raphael must be allowed to inspect the product before corrective action.

SECTION 3 – APPLICATION-SPECIFIC TERMS

3.1 Interior & Standard Tile Applications

Must follow TCNA methods and use appropriate setting materials on substrates that meet industry standards.

3.2 Exterior & Paver Applications (IMPORTANT)

Covered ONLY when:

  • Product is designated for exterior use
  • Installed using approved systems (thin-set, pedestal, etc.)
  • Proper slope and drainage are provided

Not Covered: Vehicular traffic (unless rated), drainage failure, or movement due to inadequate base preparation.

3.3 Use Limitations

The purchaser is responsible for ensuring the product is appropriate for traffic conditions and environmental exposure.

2.10 Legal Notice: Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages. In such cases, portions of this warranty may not apply.
