Porcelain for bedrooms
Floors, headboard walls and en-suites in porcelain slabs and tiles for the bedroom.
Why porcelain works in the bedroom
Porcelain for bedrooms gives you a floor that feels like wood or natural materials and stays easy to keep clean: it does not stain, does not fade in the sun and takes a radiant heating system under it. A matte finish keeps the room calm and comfortable underfoot.
Carry one design from the floor to the headboard wall or into the en-suite bathroom for a continuous room, or add a large-format slab behind the bed as the only statement. Start with the surface you are planning below, then see how other bedrooms put it together.

Bedroom floors
Wood-look and soft neutral designs in a matte finish give a warm floor with fewer grout lines to clean.
Headboard and feature walls
A single large-format slab or a run of tiles behind the bed adds depth to the room with very few joints.

Master suites and en-suites
Run the bedroom floor into the en-suite bathroom in the same design: porcelain handles both the dry and the wet room.

Porcelain in the bedroom: FAQ
Is porcelain tile too cold for a bedroom?
Porcelain takes the temperature of the room, like any hard floor. With a radiant heating system under it, a porcelain floor is warm underfoot all winter, and a rug by the bed softens the first step of the day.
Can porcelain look like wood in a bedroom?
Yes. Wood-look porcelain comes in planks with the grain and the tone of oak, walnut or ash, and unlike wood it does not scratch, fade or warp. Ask your dealer for a sample to see it next to your furniture.
What finish is best for a bedroom floor?
A matte or natural finish: it reads softer, hides dust better than a polished surface and gives more grip when you get out of bed barefoot. Keep polished finishes for a headboard wall.
Can I use a porcelain slab behind the bed?
Yes. A 48x111 slab covers a headboard wall in one or two pieces, so the veining runs without a joint. Your installer plans the layout from your measurements. See marble-look porcelain for a classic feature wall.
Is porcelain a good floor for allergies?
Yes. Porcelain is non-porous: it does not hold dust, mites or pet hair the way carpet does, and a damp mop is all it needs. See our porcelain tile cleaning guide.
