Porcelain that looks like stone

Stone-look porcelain gives you the texture and color of slate, limestone and basalt in a surface that is non-porous, needs no sealing and stands up to the weather and heavy wear. That makes it a good fit for bathrooms and living spaces inside, and for patios, pool decks and walkways outside, where many designs also come as pavers.

Start with Limestone Ash and Limestone Ice for soft, pale pavers, Argos White for a light, textured floor, and Lava Grey for a darker, slate-like surface.

Stone-look porcelain FAQ

Does stone-look porcelain look like the real thing?

Yes. The texture and color changes of slate, limestone and basalt are reproduced from natural slabs in high definition, and the pieces vary from one to the next, so a floor reads as a natural surface rather than a repeated print.

Can stone-look porcelain be used outdoors?

Yes. Many stone-look designs come as outdoor pavers for patios, pool decks and walkways, and porcelain absorbs almost no water, so it holds up to rain and temperature changes. Each design page lists where it can be installed.

Does stone-look porcelain need sealing?

No. Unlike limestone or slate, porcelain never needs a sealer. Clean it with water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner; our porcelain tile cleaning guide has the details.

What is the difference between stone-look and slate-look porcelain?

Slate-look porcelain is one kind of stone-look porcelain: it reproduces the dark, layered surface of slate. Stone-look porcelain also covers lighter looks such as limestone, and darker ones such as basalt, from pale ivory to charcoal.

Is stone-look porcelain slippery?

It depends on the finish. For bathrooms, pool decks and outdoor floors, choose a matte finish or one made for exterior use, which gives more grip than a polished surface. Each design page lists the finishes it comes in.
